A Whitmont Fellow is not a graduate. The word stays with you, with the number of your cohort.

Two words and a number. In a bio, on a wall, in a room. It says you were chosen early, you built in the Room, and you finished.

What a Fellow will get

  • Money first, so you can hire before you feel ready.
  • Time. Early backing buys a year of real work.
  • A desk in the Room, next to the other teams doing the hard thing.
  • Mentors who take the call and tell the truth. Who they are and what they do is on the Mentors page.
  • The network: every cohort before you, and the people around The Inference Podcast.
  • The craft: the hard lessons on building, delegating and shipping, taught rather than kept.
  • An episode. Every Fellow records one with The Inference Podcast. That is the ritual, and the record.
Mentors

The rules

  • A Fellow finishes. The programme ends with the finishing fortnight, not a demo day.
  • A Fellow answers the phone for the cohort after them.
  • A Fellow's company is counted in the Number, every year, whether it went well or not.
  • A Fellow stays a Fellow.
